As well as fire doors and smoke control doors, Doorway Technical Centre personnel are highly experienced in the field of acoustic doors.
For example, a typical entrance door on an apartment is likely to offer little more than a 30 dB sound reduction when evaluated against the official testing standards. After an extensive research and development programme, DTC is now able to offer up to 44 dB Rw, depending on the design and seals chosen, yet still within a 44mm overall thickness and with a weight of only 66 kg.
Until now, particularly in the realm of sound reduction, a 44 dB Rw performance would require a bulky, unwieldy door leaf of up to 75mm in thickness with a weight in excess of 90kg. However, in a revolutionary new development, Doorway Technical Centre is proud to introduce DOORwAY 44™ - attractive heritage style panelled door assemblies not only with mandatory fire and smoke performance but also coupled with outstanding sound reduction capability.
